Privacy Policy
Effective date: 4 August 2026
Diverse Dogs Pty Ltd (ABN 29 656 858 990), trading as “Diverse Dogs”
(“we”, “us”, “our”), respects your privacy. This policy explains how we
collect, use, store, disclose and protect your personal information, and
how you can access or correct it or make a complaint. We aim to handle
personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles
under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
1. What personal information we collect
Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect:
-
Contact and identity details — your name,
address, phone number and email. -
Booking and service information — the services
you book, your dog’s details (such as name, breed, age, health,
vaccination status and behaviour history), your emergency contact
details, and notes we make to deliver our services. -
Payment information — we use third-party payment
and buy now, pay later providers to process payments. Your card and
finance details are collected and held by those providers, not by us. We
may keep records of transactions. -
Communications — records of your enquiries and
correspondence with us, and your marketing preferences. -
Photos and video — images and footage taken
during our services (see section 8). -
Website and technical data — if you use our
website, basic information such as your device and browsing activity
(see section 11).
2. How we collect it
-
Directly from you — when you enquire, book,
complete forms or agreements, make a payment, attend a service, or
contact us. -
Automatically — when you visit our
website. -
From others — occasionally from someone acting
on your behalf, or from a referring vet or trainer, with your
knowledge.
3. Why we collect and use it
We use your personal information to:
-
provide, manage and improve our services;
-
take bookings and process payments;
-
keep you, your dog, our staff and others safe — for example, by
acting on health and behaviour disclosures and emergency
contacts; -
communicate with you about your bookings and services;
-
send you marketing about our services, where you have not opted
out; and -
meet our legal, insurance and record-keeping
obligations.
4. When we disclose it
We may share your personal information with:
-
our staff and contracted trainers who help deliver our
services; -
third-party payment and buy now, pay later providers;
-
veterinarians or emergency services if your dog needs care while
in our care; -
service providers who help us operate, such as booking, email,
cloud-storage and IT providers; -
our insurers or professional advisers; and
-
others where required or authorised by law.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Payments
When you pay using a third-party payment or buy now, pay later
provider, the information you give that provider is collected and
handled by them under their own privacy policy and terms. We are not
responsible for how those providers handle your information, so we
encourage you to read their policies.
6. Marketing
We may send you information about our services and offers. You can
opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe option in our messages or
by contacting us, and we will stop sending you marketing. We may still
contact you about services you have booked.
7. Storing and protecting your information
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from
misuse, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, and to
keep it secure in both physical and electronic form. We keep your
information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as
required by law, and then take reasonable steps to destroy or
de-identify it.
8. Photos and media
We take photos and video during our services and use this content for
marketing and social media. By booking, taking part in or otherwise
using our services, you consent to us taking and using photos and video
that include you and/or your dog for these purposes. If you have a
specific concern, please contact us.
9. Overseas disclosure
Some of the service providers we use (for example, cloud-storage,
email or software providers) may store or process information on servers
located outside Australia. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps
to ensure your information is handled appropriately and consistently
with this policy.
10. Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask us for access to the personal information we hold about
you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us using the details below.
We may need to verify your identity first. We will respond within a
reasonable time, and if we cannot give you access or make a correction
we will explain why.
11. Our website and cookies
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to help it work
properly and to understand how it is used. You can disable cookies in
your browser settings, though some parts of the website may not work as
well if you do.
12. Complaints
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal
information, please contact us first and we will try to resolve it. If
